The chairman of the United States Senate Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health Policy, Senator Ted Cruz has claimed that the US knows those behind the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

The lawmaker told Fox News Digital that the alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria is as a result of “decisions made by specific persons” in the country, stressing that he intends to hold them accountable.

Senator Cruz alleged that the “Nigeria’s federal government and a dozen state governments enforce blasphemy laws in their criminal and sharia codes, and they ignore or facilitate mob violence targeting Christians.”

Several international figures had recently lamented the alleged massacre of Christians in the country.

But the presidency dismissed the claims, describing it as lies targeted at tarnishing the image of the country.

However, in response to some comments by government officials, Cruz told Fox News Digital that the killings “are the result of decisions made by specific people, in specific places, at specific times. The United States knows who those people are, and I intend to hold them accountable”.
