Algeria has become the fourth African nation to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The Desert Warriors booked their spot with a 3-0 win over Somalia on Thursday night.

Wolfsburg’s Mohamed Amoura scored a brace, while Riyad Mahrez, who assisted Amoura both times, also got on the scoresheet.

Algeria now lead Group G with 22 points after nine matches.

They have four more appoints ahead of their closest contenders Uganda with just one match remaining.

It will be their fifth appearance at the World Cup.

They will join Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia as the only African nations to be assured of a spot at next year’s tournament.
