Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has said that former Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, accommodated the views of his opponents and allowed free speech without fear of persecution during his tenure.

The Deputy Speaker stated this in a statement released from his office to celebrate Ikpeazu’s 61st birthday.

The statement, which was signed by Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, noted that Ikpeazu’s administration demonstrated remarkable leadership by fostering an environment of peace and respect for all.

According to the statement: “Ikpeazu’s government accommodated the views of the opposition and upheld the principles of free speech, allowing critics to express themselves without fear of persecution.”
