Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone, has picked a surprise club as the strongest team in the Champions League this season.

A lot of pundits have said Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are the hardest teams to play against.

But Simeone believes that there is no team that comes close to Inter Milan.

He was speaking after they beat the Serie A side 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring at the Wanda Metropolitano, before Piotr Zielinski levelled for Inter.

Atletico kept their hopes of qualification with a dramatic winner in the 93rd minute, thanks to Jose Maria Gimenez’s towering header.

It was Inter’s first defeat in the competition.

Speaking to Prime Video after the final whistle, Simeone said: “There’s no doubt about it. Inter are the strongest team in the Champions League right now.”
