Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has ordered the perimeter fencing of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin to ensure security of staff and students of the polytechnic and check further encroachment on the institution’s land.

Dr Jimoh Abdul Mohammed, Rector of the polytechnic, revealed this on Monday, at a media parley organized by the department of Strategic Communication and Media Studies, in conjunction with the Information and Publications Division, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

The rector, said the institution had cried out to the governor following the continued encroachment of its land, a phenomenon he described as “a big age-long challenge” to the polytechnic.

He said the perimeter fence would not only check further encroachment on the polytechnic’s land but would also ensure security of lives and property of Kwarans and non Kwarans in the institution.
