Cameroon became the fourth team to qualify for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Indomitable Lions held on following a late fight back to beat South Africa 2-1 in Rabat on Sunday night.

Junior Tchamadeu opened the scoring in the 34th minute of the match.

Two minutes after the restart, Christian Kofane doubled Cameroon’s advantage, as they seemed to be strolling to victory.

But Evidence Makgopa’s controlled finished in the 88th minute for Bafana Bafana provided a tense ending.

Cameroon now joins countries like Morocco, Mali and Senegal in the last eight of the tournament.
