Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has warned social media influencers and political commentators to stop making insulting or inflammatory statements against the national leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The governor gave the warning on Saturday during the distribution motorcycles to social media influencers at the Government House in Kano.

Yusuf described Kwankwaso as a respected leader whose contributions to the political and economic development of Kano State are significant, saying he deserves respect.

“Kwankwaso is a leader who has contributed greatly to the progress of Kano, and he must be respected,” the governor said.

He cautioned that the misuse of social media to spread insults, false information, and hateful comments could threaten peace and unity in the state.

“Using social media to spread abuse, lies, or hatred can endanger the peace and harmony of Kano,” Yusuf warned.

The governor stressed that freedom of expression must be exercised with responsibility.

He noted that political discussions should focus on issues and meaningful dialogue rather than personal attacks.

The governor urged influencers to use their platforms positively and contribute to unity and peaceful coexistence in Kano State.
