The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Working Committee, NWC, has suspended state, local government and ward congresses for Abia State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman of the party, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the suspension was due to ongoing consultations and the need to conclude certain preparatory and administrative processes.

The statement said this would ensure the orderly, transparent and credible conduct of the congresses in the state.

Yilwatda stated that the party will communicate the revised schedule of activities to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
