Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has mourned residents killed in a recent attack on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, assuring that efforts are ongoing to rescue those abducted during the incident.

The governor spoke on Friday while visiting displaced residents from Ngoshe currently taking refuge in Pulka community, where he sympathised with families affected by the attack.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram attacked Ngoshe, killing several residents and abducting many others.

Zulum said military operations were ongoing in the area and parts of Sambisa Forest to track the attackers and secure the release of abducted residents.

He noted that security forces were intensifying operations to flush out insurgents operating in the region.

The governor also called for increased military operations around the Mandara Mountains, which he said remains a major security concern due to the presence of insurgent groups.

Zulum added that the state government had begun providing relief support to affected residents, including food distribution and temporary feeding centres for displaced persons.

He also inspected houses destroyed during another attack in Konduga town.
