President Donald Trump has announced that his White House Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
Trump disclosed the development in a statement posted on his Truth Social platform on Monday, describing Wiles as a strong and committed official who intends to begin treatment immediately.
“Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know but, unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting,” Trump said.
According to the president, Wiles has assembled a “fantastic medical team” and doctors have given her an excellent prognosis.
He also noted that despite undergoing treatment, the chief of staff plans to continue carrying out her duties and will spend most of her time working from the White House during the treatment period.
Trump praised Wiles as one of his closest and most important advisers, highlighting her dedication to public service and commitment to her role.
The president added that he and First Lady Melania Trump are supporting Wiles as she undergoes treatment and expressed confidence that she will recover and continue her work in the administration.
