Benjamin Netanyahu has disclosed that he is in “excellent physical condition” following treatment for an early-stage prostate cancer, stating that the condition has been fully resolved.

In a statement posted on his official X account on Friday, the Israeli leader said the cancer was detected during routine medical checks and treated successfully without complications.

“Thank God, I am healthy. I am in excellent physical condition,” he said.

Netanyahu explained that he deliberately delayed the release of his medical report by about two months to avoid it being exploited during the ongoing conflict.

“I requested to delay its publication so that it would not be released at the height of the war, in order not to allow the Iranian terror regime to spread even more false propaganda against Israel,” he stated.

According to him, the issue was discovered during follow-up examinations after a previous surgery for an enlarged benign prostate about 18 months ago. Doctors identified a small tumour measuring less than one centimetre, which was confirmed to be malignant but had not spread.

“They told me this is very common among men my age,” he said, noting that he was presented with options of continued monitoring or immediate treatment.

“You already know me. When I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately, both on the national level and on the personal level.”

He said he opted for treatment, which involved a series of brief procedures that did not interrupt his official duties.

“I went to a few short treatments, read a book, and continued working. The spot disappeared completely,” Netanyahu added.

The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation to medical personnel at Hadassah Hospital for their care and urged the public to prioritise regular health checks.

“Take care of your health. Get checked, and follow the doctors’ instructions,” he advised.

He also expressed solidarity with injured Israelis and extended wishes for peace ahead of the Sabbath.

“On the eve of Shabbat, I pray for the peace of our wounded in body and soul… Shabbat Shalom,” he said.
