The Naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Monday, resuming the week on a high note against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira gained to close at N1,356.27 per dollar on Monday, up from N1,363.83 traded on Friday last week.

This means that the local currency surged by N7.56 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1395 per dollar, the same rate as exchanged last week.

This comes as the country’s foreign reserves rose to $50.51 billion as of June 11, 2026.
