At least four countries have booked their places in the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Paraguay and Morocco became the latest countries to progress after they needed penalties to see off Germany and The Netherlands, respectively.

Julio Encisco had given Paraguay the lead in their Round of 32 clash with Germany, before Kai Havertz’s header drew them level.

Havertz was among the German players that missed their spot-kick, as they lost 3-2.

Morocco scored a late equalizer through Issa Diop to take the game into extra time and penalties, after Cody Gakpo had opened the scoring.

Quentin Timber, Crysencio Summerville and Justin Kluivert all missed for The Dutch, as they exited the competition.
