Nigeria’s leading commercial bank, Access Bank, has kept mum over the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a customer’s deposits amounting to millions of naira.

DAILY POST reports that, in the past two days, a viral video has surfaced online showing a lady, whose identity was not disclosed, alleging that she is a customer of Access Bank.

The lady, in the viral video, cried out that her deposits with Access Bank had been withdrawn under strange circumstances.

According to her, her deposits with Access Bank had been suspiciously withdrawn since October 2025 until her balance dropped from about N3 million to zero.

She further alleged that she had repeatedly visited Access Bank with her complaint but was told that the issue was under investigation.

“I came to Access Bank, I cannot find my money. They told me that it is under investigation. I came again today, they told me they’ve contacted their headquarters. I really need help because I can’t do this alone. Since October 2025, they have been taking money from my account. They took everything; not even N200 is left in my account. I trusted Access Bank so much, but they took my money,” she said in the viral video.

When DAILY POST contacted Access Holdings Plc’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Olakunle Aderinokun, on Thursday afternoon, he was yet to respond to DAILY POST’s inquiry about the matter.

DAILY POST reports that Access Bank was yet to issue any official statement on the matter at the time of reporting.

There are claims making the rounds that the customer’s Subscriber Identity Module, SIM, was attached to another person’s account following a period of inactivity.

Reacting to the matter, the president of the Bank Customers’ Association of Nigeria said Access Bank owes its customer full disclosure on what happened to her deposits.

According to him, the customer in question should immediately take up the matter with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, if her allegation is anything to go by.

“The bank, in whatsoever circumstances, owes its customers full disclosure. I advise she escalate to the Central Bank of Nigeria if she is saying the truth,” he told DAILY POST.
