Dollar to Naira exchange rate Today, September 3, 2026: Naira records highest appreciation

The naira continued its appreciation against the dollar on Thursday, recording its highest gain so far in September at the official foreign exchange market.

Central Bank of Nigeria data showed that the naira firmed further to N1,315.67 against the dollar on Thursday, from N1,326.69 recorded on Wednesday.

This means that, on a day-to-day basis, the naira strengthened by N11 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the naira remained unchanged at N1,400 per dollar on Thursday, the same exchange rate recorded the previous day.

The development comes as the country’s foreign reserves rose further to $53.99 billion as of September 2, 2026, according to data from the apex bank.
