A gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2027 general elections in Oyo State has warned Governor Seyi Makinde to desist from further sale or allocation of land to private individuals or developers.

Alli, in a statement signed by the Director of his campaign organisation, Bisi Oladele, on Tuesday, expressed worry over the alleged arbitrary sale and allocation of government lands to private individuals and developers by the state government.

Alli, who described the situation as disturbing, said the government holds the mandate to expand the assets in the state rather than filtering them away to cronies.

“It is a worrisome situation where it is the same government that is selling off the state’s assets and infrastructure.

“Governor Makinde has a duty to preserve the assets of Oyo State for the benefit of its people.

“We therefore demand an immediate halt to any contemplated sale or allocation of Cheshire Home land to private developers and insist that all transactions involving public assets be subjected to the highest standards of transparency and accountability.”
