The management of Adekunle Ajasin University, AAUA, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, has banned all signing-out ceremonies and related celebrations on campus, citing security concerns.

The directive was contained in a circular issued by the university’s Registrar, Dr Grace Olubunmi Babalola, dated October 30, 2026.

According to the circular, the Vice-Chancellor approved the decision on behalf of the Senate as part of measures to protect lives and property within the university community.

The management said no signing-out party, procession, gathering or any other celebration linked to the completion of academic programmes would be allowed anywhere on campus until further notice.

The directive takes immediate effect, with all students, particularly final-year students, instructed to comply fully.

The university also directed deans, heads of departments, heads of units, security personnel and other relevant officials to enforce the ban strictly and report any violations to the appropriate authorities.

Babalola warned that anyone who disregards the directive would face disciplinary action in line with the university’s regulations, while cases involving suspected criminal offences would be handed over to law enforcement agencies.
