Abuja, Nigeria – May 20, 2025

In a significant step toward grassroots women empowerment, The Amina Agbo Foundation (TAAF) has paid courtesy visits to the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) and the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), presenting its flagship empowerment initiative — the EHI Project. The meetings were met with warmth, support, and expressions of willingness to collaborate for long-term impact.

During both engagements, the Foundation’s Founder and Regional Coordinator, Dr. Mrs. Sarah Ogah-Aduwari mni, highlighted the organization’s mission to transform the lives of indigent women and vulnerable youth in Nigeria through empowerment, mentorship, and sustainable development programs.

“We are here to build strategic partnerships for the upcoming TAAF Conference for Indigent Women in Abuja this November,” Dr. Ogah-Aduwari mni told the AANI leadership. “Our goal is to provide over 100 women with entrepreneurial skills, life training, and health support to begin or improve their economic journeys.”

The EHI Project, described as more than just a training program, combines entrepreneurship, financial literacy, mentorship, and wellness support in a three-day fully funded residential conference. Past editions in Benue, Port Harcourt, and Bayelsa have transformed lives, and the upcoming Abuja conference aims to reach more women with the help of national stakeholders.

In response, both AANI and NCWS expressed strong interest in working with the Foundation.

The President of NCWS, Princess Edna D. Azura, commended the Foundation’s efforts and affirmed that collaborations such as this align perfectly with NCWS’s core mission.

“This is the kind of initiative we look forward to,” Princess Azura stated. “NCWS is ready to collaborate fully with TAAF. Empowering women at the grassroots level is at the core of our work, and this partnership holds great promise.”

Similarly, AANI’s leadership acknowledged the alignment between TAAF’s mission and the Association’s commitment to nation-building, community development, and leadership training.

TAAF also shared proposals for NCWS and AANI’s involvement — including mentorship, training facilitation, logistical support, advocacy, and resource mobilization. These contributions, according to Dr. Ogah-Aduwari mni, are vital to scale the program’s reach and deepen its societal impact.

“Investing in women is investing in the future,” she concluded. “With AANI and NCWS by our side, we can empower women to become agents of economic change and social transformation in their communities.”

As TAAF prepares for its major conference in November, the Foundation has set the stage for inclusive development by rallying key national actors and aligning its programs with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly on gender equality, poverty reduction, and partnerships for development.
