The Patriotic Development Support Initiative (PDSI) has applauded Hon. David Idris Zacharias, member representing Idah, Igalamela/Odolu, Ibaji, and Ofu Federal Constituency, for his recent efforts in addressing the security challenges bedeviling Kogi East.

In a statement signed by its Director General, Comrade Shuaibu Muhammed, PDSI noted that Hon. Zacharias facilitated the deployment of security operatives (Joint Task Force) along the Ochadamu–Itobe Road, a notorious flashpoint for kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The group described the intervention as a major relief to commuters and residents, stressing that the move would go a long way in curbing incessant attacks and restoring public confidence in the safety of the corridor.

While commending the lawmaker, PDSI also called on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, to prioritize the worsening security situation in Kogi East. The group urged the governor to ensure that security votes are effectively utilized to reinforce the fight against banditry and kidnapping in the region.

“The persistent insecurity on this critical route has crippled economic activities in Kogi East. A stronger synergy between the state and federal authorities will be vital in restoring peace, safety, and prosperity to our people,” the statement read.
