The Benue State House of Assembly has approved the suspension of the Auditor-General for Local Government, Abraham Gberidyer, over allegations of fraud and financial mismanagement involving N4.6 billion. The decision was taken during plenary led by Speaker Berger Emberga after Governor Hyacinth Alia sent a letter to the Assembly through the Office of the Head of Service. Osun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a Fulani herdsman, Yahaya Sulaiman, in Ijebu-Jesa, in Oriade local government area of the state. The Naira appreciated significantly against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Wednesday. The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira on Wednesday strengthened to N1,357.34 against the dollar up from N1,366.56 traded on Tuesday.
