Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the request by former Vice President and presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, to serve court documents on President Bola Tinubu through his political party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. Five members of an organised crime group have been jailed for 39.5 years after smuggling Vietnamese migrants into the UK and laundering more than £1.65 million. The UK National Crime Agency, NCA, said the group was led by twin brothers Vinh Van Nguyen and Quang Van Nguyen, who used migrants’ passports in a “debt bondage” arrangement to recover money paid for their journeys. Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Adewole Adebayo, has warned that the price of petrol could rise to N5,000 per litre if President Bola Tinubu secures a second term in office. Two newly deployed Mobile Police officers have been killed in an ambush while escorting the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ayilamo Police Division back to the community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. A combined team of operatives of the Edo State Police Command, local hunters and other security agencies have apprehended three suspected kidnappers in the state. The operatives also rescued three kidnapped victims, while one still remains in captivity.
