China has announced that it will start taxing contraceptives for the first time in over 30 years as it tries to encourage families to have more children. From January 1, 2026, contraceptive products such as condoms and birth control drugs will now be part of China’s 13 per cent value-added tax. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced its petrol price for the third time in December 2025. A DAILY POST correspondent who surveyed filling stations in Abuja observed on Thursday that NNPCL has reduced the petrol price to N835 per liter, down from N915. Dangote Refinery has reiterated that its petrol gantry price remains at N699 per litre. The company made this known in a notice on its X account on Thursday, stressing that the product is available for pickup by petroleum marketers.
