The naira has returned to appreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday. Central Bank of Nigeria data showed that the naira strengthened on Thursday to N1,347.63 against the dollar, from N1,350.41 exchanged on Wednesday. Dangote Refinery has increased the price of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO, otherwise known as diesel, at its gantry nationwide as crude oil prices topped $94.13 per barrel. A market survey conducted by DAILY POST on Thursday showed that the refinery has raised its AGO price to N1,670 per litre from N1,570. This means that the 700,000-barrel-per-day refinery increased its diesel price by N100 per litre, or 6.4 per cent.
