Prominent politician and former gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, Alh. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka has congratulated Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) on his nomination by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued on Thursday, Murtala Ajaka described Professor Amupitan as “one of the finest and most distinguished minds from Kogi State,” noting that his nomination reflects the President’s recognition of competence, merit, and regional balance in national appointments.
He commended the President for his choice, expressing confidence that the legal scholar will “deliver beyond expectations” and strengthen Nigeria’s electoral system through fairness, professionalism, and experience.
“Professor Amupitan is a man of proven integrity who will no doubt move INEC Nigeria to the next level of transparency, credibility, and excellence in the conduct of elections across the country,” Muri Ajaka said.
He wished the nominee success in his new national assignment, adding that Nigerians should support him to consolidate electoral reforms for a stronger democracy.
