A prominent grassroots politician, Agidi Umeri Peter, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for the Obi II Constituency seat in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Peter emerged victorious in the party’s primary election after defeating his closest rival, Michael Gida Daniel, in the exercise conducted on Wednesday.

Announcing the results, the collation officer, Dahiru Shuaibu Zanuwa, disclosed that Agidi Peter polled a total of 6,381 votes, while Michael Gida Daniel garnered 1,482 votes.

The outcome positions Peter as the APC flag bearer for the Obi II Assembly race as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.
