Troops of the Nigerian Army have taken into custody a number of individuals suspected to be involved in a series of so-called silent killings in parts of Plateau State.
This was made known in a post shared on X on Saturday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, the arrests were carried out by troops under Operation Enduring Peace during coordinated, intelligence-driven operations across key areas within the Jos metropolis and surrounding communities.
Security sources indicated that the suspects are believed to be connected to secretive attacks and targeted killings, usually carried out at night in less populated locations.
During the operations, troops also recovered weapons and other items considered to be linked to the criminal activities.
The development comes at a time when residents have been expressing concern over repeated incidents of unexplained killings and the discovery of bodies in isolated areas, which have heightened tension in the state.
The suspects are currently being held in custody, where they are undergoing questioning as authorities seek to uncover the full network behind the attacks and identify other possible accomplices.
Security agencies said operations are still ongoing, with efforts focused on dismantling criminal groups and restoring peace and stability across Plateau State.
