Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has retained a significant lead over his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, following the announcement of results from 25 of Osun State’s 30 local government areas. Shooting Stars have announced the departure of winger, Ismail Ayodele to Egyptian side Modern Sports Club. The Oluyole Warriors have reached agreement with the Egyptian Premier League side for permanent transfer of the player. Ayodele played a key role in Shooting Stars qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup last season. He registered four goals for the Oluyole Warriors. The Accord Party is on course to win the 2026 Osun State governorship election, with its candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, leading the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Oyebamiji, by more than 66,000 votes.
