A young man, Nura Usman and his mother, Izzatu Aminu have been arraigned before Magistrate’s Court sitting in Nomansland, Kano, on charges of conspiracy and attempted murder. The suspects are accused of plotting to kill Nura’s father, Alhaji Usman Shanono, at Dantsinke Quarters in Kano. They allegedly hired an assassin and paid him N500,000 to carry out the killing. Abia State Government has ordered all tricycle operators to stop operating on the Umuahia–Obowo–Owerri route. It also directed the immediate stoppage of tricycle movement from Umuahia to Ohafia and Arochukwu, with a directive that all defaulters be arrested.
