Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said their Carabao Cup win against Arsenal won’t affect the Premier League title race.

Guardiola believes the result might actually help Arsenal focus better when they play at the Etihad Stadium later this month.

City won 2-0 at Wembley on Sunday, with both goals coming from headers in the second half by Nico O’Reilly.

The two teams will meet again in the Premier League on April 19.

Right now, City are nine points behind Arsenal and have eight games left.

Guardiola said, “I don’t think the Carabao Cup win will have an impact.

“It’s a different competition, and when Arsenal come to the Etihad, they’ll be more focused. Winning a title is always hard, so it’s a joy and a satisfying achievement.”
