The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, has directed that adequate protection be provided for schools, places of worship, and key infrastructure across the State.
He issued the order on Saturday after embarking on a security awareness tour of the state, accompanied by the command’s tactical teams.
The tour covered Obehie, Ugwunagbo, CPS Aba, Owerrinta, Ubakala, CPS Umuahia, Area Command Aba, Area Command Umuahia, and other divisions and area commands across the state.
During the tour, Isa warned area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical team commanders to ensure that security coverage is extended to schools, places of worship, and other critical government infrastructure within their areas of jurisdiction.
He also appealed to the people of Abia State to be proactive by providing useful information to the police, either by reporting to the nearest police station or by contacting the command’s emergency hotlines.
