Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, May 29, 2026: Nigerian currency appreciates after Eid-ul-Adha holidays 

The Naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market after the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. 

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened on Friday to N1,373.25 from N1,375.41 traded on Tuesday. 

This means that the Naira gained N2.16 against the dollar on Friday when compared to the close of work before the holidays. 

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1,395 per dollar on Friday. 

The mixed sentiments of the Naira across foreign markets come as the country’s external reserves stood at $49.34 billion as of Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Recall that before the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, the Naira dropped against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
