Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, on Monday said he fought battles in the “morning, afternoon and night” all through his tenure as governor.

Fayose noted that Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti State’s current governor, is governing with comfort.

He spoke during the commissioning of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi road as part of activities to mark Oyebanji’s third year in office.

Fayose commended Oyebanji for his developmental strides in the state since he became governor.

He said: “I am only here to celebrate Ekiti with you, you have raised the bar, you have put everybody together, and you have turned this state to a state of purpose, unity among all of us, irrespective of our political party.

“I say to you always, I am not a member of your party, and I will never be. I am a member of the PDP, but I celebrate a Governor that has shown that there is capacity to turn around things.

“I used my tenure as governor to fight battles. Morning it was battle, afternoon it was battle, and night it was battle.

“You are riding and doing everything for Ekiti people in comfort. If there were no dogs barking during the primary election you won’t know the value of God.

“Those dogs on the internet who are not from Ekiti that would be barking and I have chosen not to mention their names because when you mention their names, you are giving them relevance.
