Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted he felt a “pain in my tummy” after they conceded a late goal in their 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Saturday.
The Gunners let in their first goal in 881 minutes and then again in stoppage time to drop points against the Black Cats.
The result that potentially breathes new life into the title race.
Daniel Ballard opened the scoring against his former side at the Stadium of Light, before goals from Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard swung the game around.
But in the 94th minute, Brian Brobbey’s hooked effort ended Arsenal’s five-game winning run in the league.
“I felt a pain in my tummy,” Arteta said.
“I don’t want to concede any goals. It was a goal and put the game in a difficult position.”
The result means Arsenal’s lead is now seven points over second-place Manchester City, who play defending champions Liverpool on Sunday.
