Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has said that Liverpool’s talisman, Mohamed Salah must find a way to start helping his team.
This was after he watched Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-0 at the Etihad on Sunday.
Salah failed to register a goal or an assist against Manchester City as he struggled throughout the game.
Rooney said on BBC’S Match of the Day that Salah did not help in defence, leaving Conor Bradley isolated down the right.
“Salah is in the team to score goals and create goals,” the former England star said.
“In big games, you have to double up.
“I think Salah has to come back and help his teammate.”
Rooney also believes that Virgil van Dijk’s goal for Liverpool should not have been ruled out for offside.
“It’s a really good header and the goal should’ve stood for me,” he said.
Van Dijk saw a goal ruled out in the match which would’ve seen Liverpool pull level when they were 1-0 down.
