Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has signed into law a bill granting the new Seal of Adamawa State the force of law.

The law, presented to Fintiri as ‘A Bill For A Law To Create The Seal Of Adamawa And Regulate Its Use 2025,’ provides for the creation, protection, and regulation of the state seal, which will henceforth serve as the official emblem of government authority and identity.

Signing the bill into law, Governor Fintiri described it as historic, adding that the seal symbolises the state’s authority, cultural heritage, and aspirations.

“This is not just a seal, but a statement of identity, dignity, and responsibility for all who serve under it,” Fintiri said.

The new seal embodies Adamawa State’s history, cultural strength, and economic vibrancy, represented through distinct symbols.

The symbols include Kakaki, which stands for power, authority, and royalty; spear, representing the state’s warrior heritage and past victories; horse, signalling royalty, courage, and tradition; and 21 stars, representing the 21 local government areas of Adamawa State.

Other symbols are lion, representing strength, leadership, and chiefdoms; book and academic hat, signalling knowledge and the pursuit of education; cattle and crops, symbolising agriculture and food security; and fisherman, representing the contributions of the state’s riverine communities.

Excited, Governor Fintiri said further about the seal: “This seal tells our story as a people—our courage, our intellect, our resources, and our unity. It belongs to every citizen of Adamawa and must therefore be treated with the reverence it deserves.”
