A human rights lawyer, Ayiwulu Baba Ayiwulu, has raised fresh concerns over escalating insecurity in Nasarawa State, alleging that parts of Kwara, Kadarko, and Doma have become camps for Fulani terrorist groups responsible for repeated attacks on communities in the area.

In a statement shared with journalists, Ayiwulu described the situation as “a sad and helpless reality,” following the reported killing of three Migili youths from Duduguru by suspected Fulani terrorists along the Kwara–Gidan Rai road.

“Another sad moment as three Migili youths of Duduguru have been killed by Fulani terrorists along Kwara–Gidan Rai road,” he said.

“I have stated before that my area of Kwara, Kadarko, and part of Doma connecting my electoral ward has become the camp of Fulani terrorists in Nasarawa State, from where they launch attacks on both Nasarawa and Benue States.”

The lawyer lamented that the wave of attacks had rendered several communities unsafe, forcing residents to flee their homes.

“We are now helpless and may no longer have a place called our village.

“Communities like Amurayi, Antsa, Doshima, Agbogio, and Gidan Mdza, all villages behind the railway line at Kadarko, have been displaced.

“These areas, which fall within Kwara electoral ward in Keana Local Government Area and part of Doma, are now deserted,” he stated.

He accused authorities of neglecting the plight of rural communities despite repeated killings, describing the government’s silence as “unacceptable and disheartening.”

“People are being killed every day in this same axis, and yet the government is saying nothing,” he lamented.

“Do we have security in this state? Do we have a senator, representatives, and house members in this state? We are in trouble, walahi.”

Residents in the affected communities have also reported frequent gunfire and nighttime raids, calling for urgent military intervention.

As of the time of filing this report, state authorities and security agencies have not issued an official response to the latest claims.
