Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Major-General Lukman Tokunbo Omoniyi (rtd) as the state’s Executive Adviser on Security Coordination.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was communicated in a letter issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
Governor Makinde, while congratulating Major-General Omoniyi on his new role, tasked him with strengthening the coordination of security operations across Oyo State to ensure the safety and security of lives and property in all parts of the state.
Major-General Omoniyi (rtd) is a highly experienced senior infantry officer who served the Nigerian Army in several command, staff and instructional capacities during his military career.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Studies and another Master of Science degree in Strategic Studies, both obtained from the University of Ibadan.
He is also currently undertaking a doctoral programme in Peace, Security and Humanitarian Studies at the same university.
