Naira appreciates against US dollar at black, official markets

The naira recorded significant appreciation against the United States dollar in both the parallel and official foreign exchange markets on Monday, beginning the week on a positive note.

Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau De Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, told DAILY POST that the naira strengthened to N1,485 per dollar at the black market on Monday, up from N1,500 on Friday, October 25, 2025.

This indicates that the naira gained N15 against the dollar at the black market compared to the close of last week.

Similarly, at the official market, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the naira appreciated by N5.16 to close on Monday at N1,452.79 to the dollar, up from N1,457.96 on Friday.

DAILY POST reports that the naira recorded its fifth consecutive appreciation against the dollar last week at the official market.
