The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board NSUBEB, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, has paid a condolence visit to the family of Shautaha Orduwe, the 10-year-old pupil who lost his life after a classroom block collapsed at LGEA Primary School, Gada Biyu, in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The tragic incident occurred over the weekend, with the deceased laid to rest in his hometown in accordance with family and community traditions.

Leading a delegation of NSUBEB permanent members and directors to Gada Biyu on Monday, Dr. Kassim expressed sympathy to the bereaved family, urging them to find strength in the belief that death is a divine reality beyond human control.

He described the loss as deeply painful but reminded the family that death is an inevitable part of life that must be accepted with faith and resilience.

As part of measures to support the affected community, the NSUBEB chairman announced that the collapsed classroom block would be replaced with a new structure. He also approved two employment slots for qualified members of the community in the board’s ongoing rural teachers’ recruitment exercise.

During the visit, the delegation also inspected the damaged school facility to assess the extent of the collapse and evaluate the immediate needs of the school.

Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Francis Orduwe, an uncle of the deceased, expressed appreciation to Dr. Kassim and the NSUBEB management for their visit and support, while praying for their safe return.
