The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Nasarawa State has suspended its State Chairman, Adamu Bako Ninga, over allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) held on March 25, 2026, following what members described as extensive deliberations on the chairman’s conduct.
In a suspension letter signed by the State Secretary, Kafas D. Kaura, the party accused Ninga of actions that contravene its constitution.
“You are hereby suspended in view of multiple actions and inactions inconsistent with the provisions of the party constitution,” the statement read in part.
The PDP outlined several allegations against the chairman, including leaking sensitive party information to rival political groups, high-handed leadership style, and taking unilateral decisions without consulting the SWC.
Other claims include his alleged failure to convene crucial party meetings and involvement in activities considered detrimental to the party’s interests.
According to the party, Ninga is to serve a one-month suspension pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation.
The SWC also directed him to immediately hand over all party property in his possession to the deputy chairman.
The party stated that the action was taken in line with Section 57(3) of its constitution, adding that further measures would be determined after the disciplinary process is concluded.
