A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Shitu Kabir, has said that all political parties in Nigeria lack ideologies to drive the country in the right direction.

Kabir made this statement on Wednesday while fielding questions in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.

He stated that to right the wrong in the country’s political space, all hands must be on deck to build ideological political parties different from what was currently obtainable in the country.

“Nigeria’s political parties lack ideologies. In order to build ideological parties, we must adjust our presidential system and build it according to our own beliefs.

“We must now look at the evolution of power from the National to the state. We must also look at our own type of presidential system that conforms with us in devolution of power. Then you will see that you can build ideological political battle.

“The various states should be given power to control their resources, control their health system, education system and the security system because everything is local,” he said.
