No part of zone 9 would serve as breeding ground for criminals – AIG Uzuegbu

Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Kanayo Uzuegbu, said he will not allow states under the zone to be used as a breeding ground of criminals.

AIG Uzuegbu stated this in his office in Umuahia when he recieved the members of Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abia State Council.

Uzuegbu who said that his Command has zero tolerance for crime and lawlessness, assured the Journalists that officers and men of Zone 9, in synergy with sister security agencies, would continue to ensure the security of lives and property of residents in the zone.

The AIG solicited for useful information from the Journalists and other members of the public, to help in tracking criminal elements.

While describing journalists as critical stakeholders in society, AIG Uzuegbu tasked Journalists on ethical reporting, promising that his command would maintain cordial relationship with Journalists.

Earlier in his speech, the new Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel of NUJ in Abia, Steve Oko said the visit was to familiarise with the Police hierarchy in the Zone for more harmonious relationship between the Police and media practitioners.

Oko who commended the officers and men of the Police Force for their sacrifices on duty, urged the Police authorities to checkmate any form of unprofessional conducts among their officers and men, to boost their public image of the Police in the country.
