Former Delta State governorship aspirant, Dr O’Diakpo Obire, has berated ex-Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over his recent defection to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Obire spoke on Tuesday while fielding questions in an interview on Arise Television monitored by DAILY POST.
According to him, strong politicians do not migrate the way Peter Obi is doing.
He stressed that a leader must be able to stand firm, put his house in order and be prepared with his loyalists to fight the political battle.
“A strong leader stand resolute even in the face of turbulence. Peter Obi should have begun by fixing the problems within the Labour Party.
“There is effectively no structure in the ADC; it merely comprises a group of disgruntled individuals.
“There is no guarantee that he will emerge as the presidential candidate of the party,” he said.
DAILY POST reports that Obi and other notable Southeast leaders on December 31, 2025 defected to the ADC ahead of the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
