No fewer than six health workers were reportedly kidnapped during a midnight attack on a health centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants arrived around 2:00 a.m. in a bus, forcibly gaining access to the facility situated opposite Mega School.

The gunmen allegedly rounded up all staff on duty, including interns, and whisked them away in the waiting vehicle to an undisclosed location.

Patients receiving treatment at the time of the attack were reportedly left unharmed, though visibly shaken by the ordeal.

Residents in the vicinity expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as alarming and urging immediate intervention by security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted health workers and prevent further attacks.
