Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has asked Nigerians to stand firmly using their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, against those he described as enemies of Nigeria.

Obi made this call on Wednesday during his official defection from the Labour Party, LP, to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

He said Nigerians cannot afford to allow those who benefited from the country’s democracy to destroy it because of personal gain.

“Those who benefited from our democracy sometime ago have now become accessories to destroying our democracy and gangsterism. We cannot allow this to happen.

“We have one year now to determine who went to school and who didn’t go to school. We have one year now for people to tell us the school they attended and when they left school.

“We don’t want it to be something we go to court after election and they say it’s pre-election matter. We have pre-election situation now to verify everybody who wants to contest the election for Nigeria, and we must follow them,” he said.
