Naira on Wednesday recorded a three-day consecutive depreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market. The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that it further dropped on Wednesday to N1,356.11 per dollar, down from N1,355.37 on Tuesday. Suspected kidnappers have shot and killed a community leader in Edo State and abducted his daughter along with another young woman. According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at around 9:40 pm on February 23 at the victim’s home in Idoa community, Esan West Local Government Area. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Chief Jimoh Jacob, was reportedly attacked at his residence. He died during the assault. A couple abducted in Ilu Abo community in Akure North Local Council Area of Ondo State have been freed from captivity by their abductors.
