Yobe opens sale of nomination forms for June 6 LG election

The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOSIEC) has commenced the sale of nomination forms for the June 6, 2026, local government election for the positions of chairman, vice chairman, and councillors.

This was stated in a press statement issued by Permanent Member V, Kadai Maaji Jumbam, on behalf of the Commission.

According to him, this is in compliance with the election guidelines and extant rules and regulations governing the operations of the electoral umpire.

“The sale will begin on 22nd to 31st March 2026 at the Commission’s office, located at the State Ministry of Works premises, Gashua Road, Damaturu.

“The cost of the nomination forms are as follows: Chairman, N300,000; Vice Chairman, N250,000; and Councillorship, N200,000,” he said.

Jumbam urged all political parties wishing to field candidates to do so within the stipulated time frame.
