Rwandan Premier League side Bugesera FC have signed forward Daniel Barnabas from Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side El-Kanemi Warriors. Barnabas signed a one-year contract with the option of another year. The 25-year-old striker has been unveiled by his new club. Barnabas joins Bugesera FC with a record of 11 goals in 65 appearances in the NPFL. His arrival increased the numbers of Nigerians at the club to two with Elijah Ani already a key member of the squad. Barnabas previously played for Rivers United, Plateau United and Kwara United.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee, MPC, on Tuesday cut the interest rate from 27.50 percent to 27 percent from 27.50 percent. CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, announced this at a press conference after the two-day 302nd MPC meeting in Abuja. According to him, the members of the MPC unanimously agreed to the cut due to the country’s inflation decline for the past five months. MPC also adjusted the Cash Reserve Ratio, CRR, to 45 percent for Deposit Money Banks and 16 percent for Merchant Banks. Nigeria’s gross domestic product rose to 4.33 per cent in the second quarter of 2025 from 3.13 per cent in the first quarter, with mixed feelings for Nigerians, investors and financial experts under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
